Study Abroad in Seoul, South Korea

HCI flyer Apply Here

A few weeks in South Korea studying human-computer interaction, and one of the best desicions I made in college so far.

Why I Went

It was a mix of things, I had been pursuing a Korean certificate at Arizona State University for two year. Taking langauge, culture, history, and literature classes. And suddenly there was a study abroad prgoram combining my studies in Korean with courses that lined up with my major. I also wanted international experience while I still had the chance.

What I Took From It

  • A stronger sense of how to design for different users from different cultural contexts
  • International experience and adaptability from navigating daily life in a different country
  • A project: a cross-cultural HCI web project exploring how langauge and culture shape UX/UI design and to offer my insight about studying abroad
  • Proof that taking the risk actually pays off

How I Apply It Now

I came back with a simple rule I still apply. If people can't understand or use something safely, it isn't actually working, no matter how solid it is underneath. That's shaped how I think ever since
